Run 3 Tips and Tricks
🚀 Nothing Beats Navigating an Alien Through Deep-Space Tunnels — Welcome to Run 3
🎮 How to Play Run 3
Mastering Run 3 is easier than you might think.
Use the arrow keys to move through the imaginative puzzle-like tunnels:
-
Left/Right Arrows: Move side to side
-
Up Arrow: Jump
The real trick lies in learning how to rotate the map. When your character hits a wall, the screen rotates, and that wall becomes the new floor. While it may sound strange at first, you’ll quickly get the hang of it.
🧠 Run 3 Strategy Guide
As the most advanced entry in the series, Run 3 offers:
-
A variety of unique characters
-
Miles of tunnels to explore
-
Unlockable powers and abilities
Whether you’re a seasoned fan or a first-time runner, these tips will help you get started:
🔭 Expand Your Tunnel Vision
Level 3 is where things really start to get tricky. You’ll need to plan out safe routes in advance. This is easier said than done, especially when your gravity-flipping abilities give you so many options.
With practice, you’ll learn:
-
How far each character can jump
-
Which platforms are the most stable
Luckily, levels in Run 3 are not randomly generated, so you can use trial and error to find the best path forward.
📌 Pro tip: Slower characters like the Runner or Lizard give beginners more time to make decisions and find the perfect route.
🌑 Shadows Are Your Friends
One super helpful feature added by Player_03 is the shadow under each character. Though subtle, it helps greatly in judging jump distances and landings—especially in later levels where airtime is much longer.
When you’re crossing gaps, shadows disappear. So whenever possible, aim to land squarely on blocks rather than in-between them.
👽 Know Your Aliens
There are 9 unique characters in Run 3, each with distinct skills and movement styles. You can unlock them by playing Explore Mode, earning achievements, or collecting Power Cells in Infinite Mode.
Here’s a quick overview of each:
🏃 Runner
The default character, known as "The Mapmaker" in the lore. Balanced in every way — no big strengths, no glaring weaknesses. Solid for all levels.
🛹 Skater
Unlocked early in Story Mode. He’s fast but has low jump height and poor control. Great for experienced players, but tough for beginners.
Fun fact: Each time you fail a level with Skater, his speed slightly increases.
🦎 Lizard
Unlocked at Level 40 or with 600 power cells. Slow but has a huge jump height, perfect for tricky stages. His speed decreases after failures, and too many failures will cause him to fall asleep.
🐇 Bunny
Extremely fast and can jump frequently. One of the top picks among speedrunners. Requires 8 achievements to unlock.
👶 Child
A slow-moving alien holding a balloon, which reduces fall speed. Can't break fragile tiles. Ideal for levels with lots of crumbling platforms. Needs 2,000 power cells to unlock.
🎩 Gentleman
Another slow-faller who comes with magnetic powers to attract nearby power cells. Excellent for Infinite Mode. Needs 2,000 power cells to unlock.
🧬 Duplicator
As the name suggests, this character can create clones of itself. If one clone falls, you can continue with another. You can also use them to build makeshift platforms. Requires 6,000 power cells.
🍝 Pastafarian (Flying Spaghetti Monster Cultist)
Low stats overall, but with a unique ability: bridge-building. Can create lightweight bridges to cross gaps or unstable tiles. Powerful but can tempt you into unnecessary risks. Unlocks at 6,000 power cells.
👼 Angel
Brings double jumps (like Mario) to Run 3, significantly boosting speed. One of the fastest characters in the game. Requires a steep 12,000 power cells to unlock.
